Some examples of our work.
Every engagement is different, but these examples give a sense of the kinds of situations GRAD has worked on.
Real solutions for the challenges Australian SMEs face every day.
Every engagement is tailored — but these examples show the kinds of outcomes GRAD delivers for small and medium businesses across Financial Services, Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Technology. If you recognise your situation in any of these, we should talk.
Client Onboarding Portal
The problem: A financial advisory firm was onboarding clients using paper forms, email chains, and manual data entry into their CRM — taking 3–4 days per client and creating compliance risk.
What GRAD built: A secure web portal for digital client onboarding — ID verification, document upload, e-signature, automated compliance checks, and direct CRM sync. Onboarding time reduced from days to under 2 hours.
Production Job Management App
The problem: A mid-size manufacturer was running job cards on spreadsheets. Supervisors couldn't see real-time job status, materials were over-ordered, and delivery estimates were routinely missed.
What GRAD built: A tablet-based job management app for the shop floor — live job tracking, materials consumption, quality checklists, and ERP integration. Managers get a real-time dashboard showing every job's status, cost, and estimated completion.
Patient Referral Management System
The problem: An allied health group was managing specialist referrals via fax, phone, and email — losing track of patients, missing follow-ups, and unable to report on referral outcomes to funding bodies.
What GRAD built: A HIPAA-aligned referral management platform — digital referral creation, status tracking, automated patient notifications, outcome recording, and a reporting module for compliance and funding reports.
Field Service Management MVP
The problem: A growing trade services business had outgrown generic scheduling apps. They needed job scheduling, technician dispatch, customer communications, and invoicing in one place — but couldn't afford enterprise software.
What GRAD built: A lean, purpose-built field service platform — job booking, GPS dispatch, mobile technician app, automated customer SMS, quote-to-invoice flow, and Xero integration. Built for their exact workflows at a fraction of enterprise software cost.
Factory Floor IoT Monitoring
The problem: A manufacturer had no visibility into machine downtime, cycle times, or output rates. Maintenance was reactive, OEE was unknown, and production targets were set on guesswork.
What GRAD delivered: IoT sensors installed on 12 production machines, feeding live data to a custom BI dashboard — cycle counts, downtime events, temperature alerts, and OEE by shift. Maintenance is now predictive, and monthly production reports generate automatically.
Multi-Site Network Infrastructure
The problem: A financial services firm with 4 branch offices had patchy VPN connections, inconsistent Wi-Fi, no centralised device management, and a growing compliance exposure from shadow IT.
What GRAD delivered: End-to-end network redesign across all 4 sites — SD-WAN deployment, Meraki access points, centralised MDM via Microsoft Intune, hardware procurement, and a 12-month managed support agreement. Downtime dropped to near-zero.
Medical Device & Check-in Integration
The problem: A healthcare clinic was manually transcribing readings from patient monitoring devices into their practice management software — time-consuming, error-prone, and delaying clinical decisions.
What GRAD delivered: A hardware-to-software integration bridging patient monitoring devices (blood pressure, SpO2, weight scales) directly to their clinical platform via a custom middleware layer — readings auto-populate against the correct patient record in real time.
Warehouse RFID & Inventory System
The problem: A distribution business was doing weekly manual stock counts, losing inventory to theft and misplacement, and unable to give customers accurate despatch times because stock data was always out of date.
What GRAD delivered: RFID tagging on all high-value SKUs, fixed readers at key zones (receiving, pick, despatch), handheld scanner integration, and a live inventory dashboard synced to their WMS. Stock accuracy went from ~82% to 99.4%.
Executive Financial Dashboard
The problem: A CFO was spending 2 days every month manually compiling data from 5 different systems into a board report spreadsheet. The data was always slightly out of date before it was even presented.
What GRAD built: A Power BI dashboard connecting directly to their accounting platform, CRM, and operational systems — live P&L, cash flow, pipeline, and headcount KPIs, with automated board report generation. The CFO now reviews live data on demand.
Supply Chain Analytics Platform
The problem: A manufacturer had no visibility across their supply chain — raw material lead times, supplier performance, and waste levels were tracked in disconnected spreadsheets, making demand planning impossible.
What GRAD built: A unified supply chain analytics platform pulling from ERP, supplier portals, and production data — supplier scorecards, demand forecasting models, materials yield analysis, and automated reorder alerts.
People & Project Performance Dashboard
The problem: A professional services firm had no clear view of staff utilisation, project profitability, or capacity. They were consistently under-pricing projects and couldn't identify their highest-margin service lines.
What GRAD built: A people analytics dashboard integrating their PSA tool, HR system, and billing platform — live utilisation by consultant, project margin analysis, capacity forecasting, and a pricing model tool.
NDIS & Funding Compliance Reporting
The problem: A disability services provider was manually compiling NDIS compliance reports from their care management system — a 3-day monthly process with a high risk of reporting errors that could trigger funding audits.
What GRAD built: An automated compliance reporting engine extracting care delivery data and formatting it into NDIS-compliant report structures, with exception alerts for missing data and a one-click submission-ready export.
End-to-End Digital Transformation Programme
The problem: A 120-person manufacturer knew they needed to digitise but had no roadmap, no internal capability, and significant resistance from shop-floor staff who feared automation would cost jobs.
What GRAD delivered: A 12-month programme covering current-state assessment, technology roadmap, phased IoT and MES implementation, staff change management and training, and a governance framework for continuous improvement.
Regulatory Technology (RegTech) Programme
The problem: A financial services business faced an upcoming APRA compliance audit with significant gaps in their data governance, reporting controls, and technology risk management frameworks.
What GRAD delivered: A 16-week regulatory remediation programme — gap assessment, data governance policy uplift, automated compliance reporting tools, technology risk register, and staff training. Audit completed with zero material findings.
Document & Workflow Digitalisation
The problem: A professional services firm with 45 staff was still printing, signing, scanning, and filing paper documents for all client work — slowing turnaround times and making remote work almost impossible.
What GRAD delivered: A full document digitalisation programme — SharePoint architecture, e-signature integration, automated approval workflows, legacy document migration, and staff training. The firm went fully paperless within 90 days.
Operations Modernisation & Cloud Migration
The problem: A community services organisation was running on ageing on-premise infrastructure, using 6 different disconnected systems, with staff spending hours on manual data re-entry and reporting.
What GRAD delivered: A phased cloud migration to Microsoft 365, consolidation of 6 systems to 2 integrated platforms, automation of key admin workflows, and a management dashboard — all delivered with minimal disruption to service delivery.
